Viva La Paris, this phrase could not be
truer when it comes to the spirit of Paris. One does not visit Paris , one
lives and lives in Paris. Though a longer stay in Paris may prove to be
costlier for obvious reasons , but I bet that each day there would be worth
more than every penny that one would pay to breathe the Parisienne air.The
extravagant fashion , living style , life size and the preciousness of a true
french experince is not part of a director’s or a writer’s fantasy for each
facet of it’s culture is painted in these very colours and types of
stereotypes. If you think that Paris is the city of lights or have heard so
then it indeed is. It’s the city of love and the oh so romantic ambience which
uncannily hangs in the air. You cannot miss it! Eiffel was one of the seven
wonders of the world, true but being on it and experiencing the gorgeous
panorama of the city is a whole new wonder that you will keep inside of you for
the rest of your life . I learned this on my trip to Paris , especially when my
friends (they are a couple :P) told me that one of their bucket list goals was
to have champagne at the Eiffel, how ingenious , right? I strongly suggest that
you keep such a crazy eiffel bucket list handy. A trip to the second level is
sufficient for it gives one the best vistas of the city with the scintillating
river Seine. The first level is a must visit too for this is where all the
action happens , the garden with a nice petite restaurant and spanish music
playing in the background …you can only get this in Paris !! As a matter of
fact keep time enough to chill and lay around on the artificial garden
maintained on the first level. And do not forget to go to Parc Du Champ De Mars
to get the kind of picture we all have once in our lifetime clicked with the
TajMahal holding it , guilty pleasures …eh?
The Alexandre bridge is surreal and is at
the heart of the city. A cruise through and in the river Seine is mandatory in
order to get a real taste of the way the french takes leisure . Stand in the
Concorde Square , right in the middle , have a look around and trust me for
once you will feel as if it all is unreal . The Archo de Triunf , meant to
falicitate and welcome the valiant army stands right at the most prestigious street
in Paris , Champs Elysees. This street is an icon in it’s own with the biggest
Louis Vuitton flagship store ever, which usually had a waiting line for more
than four hours ! Can you imagine!! The street offers it all , from shopping to
theatre to the very famous Parisienne Lido Show , which one ought not to miss
to various high end lovely cafes. The best part of Paris is surely its evening
and though the tour of the city is ethereal during the day , at night its just
romantic, truly and most beautifully romantic, the way John Keats would have it
. A visit to the Eiffel at twelve is not to be missed , at all. Café Geroge V
on Champs Elysees is an excellent choice for a midnight snack , authentic
french beer and chat. The Charles Garnier Opera House is the oldest Opera House
in Paris , though watching the opera might not be to everyone’s taste but an
evening visit to the same might prove to be the best you would have especially
at the time when you possibly would sit at the stairs leading to the house , relaxing
, listening to the local musician livening an evening soiree . Paris , or for
that matter most of Europe is about architecture , the marvels they made almost
four to five hundred years ago : the gothic architecture of the Church of Notre
Dame is one such marvel. Notre Dame is also close to the Latin
quarters where you could roll around, browse and enjoy a crepe or two from the
street food carts. The Louvre,Mona Lisa well who doesn’t know about that , so I
will leave the rest to your imagination.
“Fragonard” is a local french perfume brand
and is super affordable if you decide to visit their museum in Les Grandes
Boulevards. Apt for gifting purposes and great for personal usage ! And for
those who always crave Indian food when abroad or are vegetarians , “Bhojan” is
a delicious choice. The Lindt restaurant near La Fayette is also a great and a
unique choice for it takes it’s name for the famous swiss Lindt chocolates. Now
the Disneyland ,Paris is divided into two parts ; the Disneyland Park and the Disneyland
Studios and if you have been to other Disneylands but still wish to go to this
one then I highly recommend the studios. Disneyland never fails to surprise ,
it truly is a wonderland , the unreal real. Also, the Lido Show gives you a
slice of authetic Paris culture with artists phenomenally talented, their act
is one which is truly a class apart. “ Donc je vais vous voir a Paris”.
